Spa Management Level One

Intro to Spa includes a comprehensive history of the spa industry, an overview and explanation of the types of spas, and the current and future spa trends in the industry. Spa Leaders includes clarification on the expectations of the spa manager, tools for developing leadership qualities and understanding the service industry. The Spa Core includes tools to create your spa culture, train a loyal and engaged team, writing employee manuals and standard operating procedures and understanding the different departments of the spa.

Level One Learning Objectives

At the end of this level, students will be able to:

  • Describe the history of spa, current spa applications, and current spa trends in design, treatment, and care
  • Define the role of the spa manager
  • Understand the importance of consistency in a spa
  • Develop a culture and understand how it permeates throughout the spa environment
  • Understand the importance of a mission statement
  • Learn how to implement tools for consistency and accountability

Spa Management Level Two

The Spa Management Level Two training program has been developed for people seeking to enhance their foundation of successful spa management practices. Spa Management Level Two includes Spa environment, selecting and sourcing spa products, supplies, and equipment, and designing spa services that serve the mission, vision, and values of the spa.

Level Two Learning Objectives

At the end of this level, students will be able to:

  • Identify key elements that contribute to a successful physical and energetic envirnoment
  • Understand the importance of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing in spa operations
  • Understand the pieces of spa menu writing
  • Perform a cost analysis based on product and supply selection
  • Understand inventory management systems

Spa Management Level Three

The Spa Management Level Three training program has been developed for people seeking to enhance their foundation of successful spa management practices. Spa Management Level Three includes human resource management and Guest service management.

Level Three Learning Objectives

At the end of this level, students will be able to:

  • Understand the proper hiring process
  • Understand how to implement training programs for employees
  • Understand how to implement systems that build trust and accountability
  • Understand the spa employee review process
  • Identify how to teach guest service and anticipatory service in the spa environment
  • Understand spa daily operations and how the daily actions affect the big picture of spa success
  • Understand which reporting is most important for spa operations
  • Understand how to lead one on one and all staff meetings

Spa Management Level Four

The Spa Management Level Four training program has been developed to provide basic financial accounting for spas, marketing, and ethics. This program prepares the spa professional to truley understand the importance of financial accounting and marketing for spas. Becoming comfortable with numbers and understanding how to forecast, plan, and prepare for shifts in business with strong defence and aggressive marketing programs will effectively prepare the spa for success.

Level Four Learning Objectives

At the end of this level, students will be able to:

  • Understand the standard Chart of Accounts for spa
  • Understand how the budgeting process is a key to success
  • Understand how differing compensation packages affect profitability
  • Understand the importance of both internal and external marketing
  • Identify the difference between internal and external marketing
  • Identify governing bodies and be able to interpret the rules and regulations
  • Understand the sanitation expectations of a spa operations
  • Identify spa specific ethical considerations
